FIRE AREA: Floor area enclosed by fire walls, fire barriers, exterior walls, or fire-resistance-rated horizontal assemblies
FIRE BARRIER: Fire-resistance-rated wall assembly that restricts spread of fire, extends continuously from foundation to roof deck or assembly above
